Speaking during the dedication ceremony, President Weah vowed to construct more health facilities across the country, especially for those living in rural areas.

President Weah said there are more construction of the Health Facility to come to improve the health sector in Western Liberia and allow Foreign Nationals in the country and people from nearby Sierra Leone to have access to affordable Healthcare Services.

Modern Hospital in Gbarpolu County

The Hospital which is in support of the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD) is an outcome of the goodwill gesture of the bilateral relations between the governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Liberia and has increased the expansion and modernization of the country’s health sector.

For his part, United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Affairs Minister, Sheikh Shakboot Nahyan Al Nahyan described the construction of the Emirates hospital in Gbarpolu County as a beckon of hope for Africa’s health sector.

He said the facility is a sign of cooperation between the country and the UAE and will strengthen its partnership with Liberia in the coming years.

Meanwhile, following the dedication, the President led a guided tour of the 100-bed medical facility, inspecting various departments including the patients’ wards, surgical rooms, and maternity and Emergency wards.
